Slack acquires Rimeto
We’re excited to announce that Rimeto has been acquired by Slack (NYSE: WORK).
We founded Rimeto nearly four years ago to help people collaborate at work by reinventing the enterprise directory. People can’t work together effectively if they don’t understand each other; and the traditional “directory” of names, titles, and contact information doesn’t provide the context people need in today’s fast-paced, cross-functional, increasingly remote workplace.
We believe that everyone should be empowered to find and understand their colleagues, and also the teams and projects at their organization. In Rimeto, each person has a profile that represents them holistically and authentically at work - an insightful and automatically-generated picture of their experience, affiliations, skills, focus areas, and much more.
Like Rimeto, Slack transforms the way organizations collaborate. Joining Slack is a special opportunity to accelerate Rimeto’s mission and impact with greater reach, expanded resources, and the support of Slack’s impressive global team. As part of Slack, we will be working to ensure that Slack is the place people find and learn about the people they work with - both inside their organization and beyond.
We’re proud that many prominent organizations have deployed Rimeto to their global workforces. To our customers: we deeply appreciate your trust in us. We will continue to deliver the great experience you value. And we’re excited to bring new capabilities to the 750,000 organizations using Slack, including 65 of the Fortune 100. We look forward to sharing our product roadmap over the coming months. If you're interested in Rimeto for your organization, click here to contact our team.
And there would be no Rimeto without our tremendously talented team. Thank you for your passion, creativity, and customer obsession.
We’re also grateful to our investors, who’ve been exceptional partners, especially Rick Lewis (U.S. Venture Partners), Grady Burnett (Bow Capital), Ray Dalio and the team at Floodgate.
Finally, our deepest thanks to our family, friends, and advisors who have supported us on this journey.
It’s been an honor, and we’ll aim to make you all proud in the next chapter at Slack.
